Hot Air!

So that Hot Press yesterday had allot of us going. But fear not as Andy has had his say over at the official forum..

I’d just like to reassure you all that we’re definitely not splitting up & this is definitely
not our farewell tour!!

So there you have it! Great news, though that was quite the jump made by Hot Press! I doubt this blog will be flagging up any further “news” from that lot again.

To read the rest of what Andy had to say about the article and what doves are doing right now, head over to the official forum.

Cherry Ghost For UK Tour

Some good news today! Its been confirmed Cherry Ghost will be supporting doves on the UK tour in April/May. Cherry Ghost who have a new album in the pipeline due sometime in the summer are fantastic live, this is welcomed news as far I’m concerned. Well worth checking out if you are seeing a show.

Check out Cherry Ghost at MySpace.

Jodrell Bank

Today Doves visited Jodrell Bank in Cheshire to perform a couple tracks for the Guardian Newspaper. Jimi & Jez played acoustic versions of Andalucia and Kingdom Of Rust.

See the video & interview here.

iTunes Bonus

If you are considering purchasing The Best Of from itunes then you will be lucky enough to receive the bonus track Brazil, which was previously only available on the Winter Hill 7″ vinyl. I doubt the track will be available to buy on its own as with all itunes “exclusives” you have to buy the full thing. With a bit of luck 7digital will sell the track at 320kbps.

iTunes will also be making all the videos available to buy at the store for the first time.

Hear Best Of Snippets

If you fancy hearing snippets from the Best Of.. Obviously you may have most of the tracks. But you can hear new tracks such as Blue Water & Drifter. Drifter sounds interesting, Blue Water sounds like it remains true to the version allot of us liked 9-10 years ago.

Visit the amazon.co.uk digital download store.

The amazon UK digital download page states a new release date of April 20th, which would appear to be the new release date in North America. I will find out if the UK date has been moved also.

Here It Comes

Its the calm before the storm here. Later this week I will posting the results of the poll I set-up last year asking you all to name your top five favourite doves songs. Over 1500 of you have voted so the results will be hard to argue with! Thanks allot. I will be asking you all to vote for your one favourite track from the top 20. The main poll will be staying up indefinitely, but if you want your vote to count towards the top 20 then vote before Wednesday.

Othewise no real news. Though do keep your eye on the official site doves.net tomorrow as I hear there will be some news posted there.

Live from Abbey Road On Sundance Channel

If you are in the USA, you will be able to see the Live From Abbey Road tv show featuring doves next month. The show will air on the Sundance Channel April 9th at 8pm EST. I know if you have RCN you will be able to watch the show when you want on demand after the show has aired.

The show was previously aired in the UK last November. Its a good watch if you haven’t already seen it.

Cheers to Rob doves number one fan for the heads up!
