Part one of four videos of Doves headline performance at Glastonbury 2003. They headlined the Sunday night on the Other stage. Have seen bits of this before, but not as much as has been uploaded by some kind soul at youtube. BBC Radio 1 later played full audio of the gig which included an early outing for One Of These Days.
So that just left the Doves. Who in a word were as always – fantastic. We’d even go a step further and say that they may just be the best band playing live in the UK right now…and whether you agree or not is besides the point as Clapham Common bounced, sang and beamed along with the Manchester trio.
Their set contained quality track after quality track, spanning their history and delighting in massive amounts. ‘Pounding‘ and ‘Kingdom of Rust’ rocked, as Jez’s vocals cut deep coaxing out the goose pimples with ease. But ‘There Goes The Fear’ remains one Stereoboard.com’s favourite tracks of all time; ensuring our voices were well and truly gone by the end of the evening. Though it wasn’t anything that more free ice cream couldn’t heal!

Setlist thanks to Rosie & NLF. They did not play Spaceface despite it being listed. More bother with the man from the council?! If so he needs to get out more!
Jimi dedicated The Cedar Room to Alex ‘Hurricane’ Higgins. Good man!
With the football season just a few weeks away, it’s that time again for fantasy football. Once again doves board regular teps has set up a doves league at the official Fantasy Premier League competition.

Cut-price tickets are now on sale here for Doves at Glasgow’s Oran Mor on September 2, which will mark the official launch of the new Miller Filtered Music project. Tickets work out at just £6.25 each plus a £2.25 transaction fee.
Miller Filtered Music; a series of gigs that filter out the unnecessary. No frills, no fuss, we want to capture the true energy of live performance
So far so good! The only sections not finished are the live archive & the discography. Those will be up by the end of the week. Some posts/pages may not look right, I’m in the process of fixing that.
Everything from blogspot has been transferred. Whilst the live section is still to be finished, you can find what you are looking for using the new search function on the right.
Otherwise the blog carries on as normal, not that I expect much Doves news over the coming weeks or months!! Though Echoes In The Alleyway is moving on at a fast pace, looking forward to bringing that to you all.
Got my copy today. After what was said on the Doves Fourm I was expecting a dogs dinner to be honest.
Not at all. Comes in a nice glossy digipack. It was clearly stated before hand we were buying CDRs, so that comes as no surprise.
CDs are definitely not burnt mp3s. Though yes I have that awful Greatest Denier fade out, so I will request a new CD.
Otherwise, glad I bought a copy. As I said after the May tour, they should release a live album to document the band playing better live now than ever before. So if you enjoy Doves live, get yourself a copy.
Welcome to the new home for Doves Music Blog. As you can tell there is allot of work to be done. All should be back to normal within the week, so please bear with me. Nothing will be lost, all the archives from blogspot can and will be transferred. All the regular features/apps will return over the coming days.
For those of you who emailed/commented via the old blog about issues with the Live at Eden CD/download. Please see this post at Doves forum, that should answer your questions.
