Jimi’s tour of 6 Music continues.. this time on Saturday past Jimi spoke to 6 Music’s Liz Kershaw. Jimi’s bit starts around 2 hours 5 minutes in which starts with a airing of the theme for the Bird Effect.

Looking on You Tube, its hard to believe Birdy’s cover of Cherry Ghost’s People Help The People has had almost had over a million views if you combine the two videos she has up. More than three times the views the Cherry Ghost original version has! crazy stuff.
Cherry Ghost have got a trio of acoustic shows lined up for December, the first Manchester date is sold out. So you probably shouldn’t hang around getting tix for the other shows in Manchester & London.
Again, if you get the chance on Thursday head to Shoreditch to see Jimi and the Bird Effect Ensemble perform the Bird Effect theme in full. Tix are 6 quid in advance or 8 on the night at Rich Mix. Support comes from blog favourites and fellow Heavenly Records signed Trevor Moss and Hannah Lou, who will also be supporting Cherry Ghost in December!

Breath taking! Earlier this evening Jimi and his Bird Effect Ensemble performed the Bird Effect title track in full live on 6 Music’s Marc Riley show. It is a beautiful mesmerizing piece of music, that should be listened to in full. If you have a chance to attend the performance in London next Thursday you should jump at it! Well impressed, Jimi probably should be expecting a call from the National Geographic channel here soon..

A couple weeks back Talking Naturally’s Charlie Moores caught up with Jimi and Ceri Levy at the Bird Fair to chat about the Ghosts of Gone Birds and Bird Effect projects. Its an interesting listen, again they expand upon what the projects are about, how they started and where they are going with them.

On Monday Jimi was the special guest on the new Mary Anne Hobbs Xfm show Music: Response. The show is available to listen to at Xfm on demand here. The interview starts 2 hours in.
During the interview Jimi spoke at length about his work on the Bird Effect with Ceri Levy. There is to be another Bird Effect performance for Ghosts of Gone Birds, this time in Shoreditch sometime in November. More on that as I get it!
Jimi also spoke about his ‘solo’ record which he hopes will sound like some mad mix tape! He has been working with Simon Dine, who is probably most known for producing the last couple Paul Weller records.
Of Course Mary Anne Hobbs asked Jimi about the status of Doves, again Jimi reiterated they are taking a break/hiatus whatever you want to call it. Jimi compiled a rather eccentric mix for the show which you can listen to below. The mix includes some of Jimi’s demos, spot them if you can!
This evening Jimi filled in for Guy Garvey on 6 Music’s Finest hour. Of course the show was filled with some cracking music! Def checking out Dungen who I hadn’t heard of before to be honest.
The show’s highlight was Jimi giving his latest ‘piece’ The Bird Effect its radio debut, written for the documentary of the same name by Ceri Levy, who joined Jimi in the studio for some chat.
