North America Tour Support

Just in: Supporting doves on the North American tour will be Wild Light. A four piece indie pop group from New Hampshire. They have recently supported The Killers on tour.

You can visit their myspace page, here.

For more info on the group. Visit this blog for a detailed biography.

Firesuite In Sheffield

The band played the regular set, last night in Sheffield. Though Firesuite was played instead of Northenden. I believe this to be the first performance of Firesuite this year. Hopefully the first of many.

Thanks to Mike Short for the info!

New Interview With The Guardian

There’s a great new interview with the band from U.K. newspaper, The Guardian, published today. The band chat about losing the #1 album chart spot to Lady GaGa; demanding fans; deceased pets – and their perceived “unglamorous” image…

Guardian.co.uk

They have been called “sad-sack blokes who never make bad records”, “weatherbeaten” and “world-weary”.

“What does that mean?” Andy demands of the sad-sack blokes.

“It’s like, slouching in ill-fitting clothes,” Jimi says. “Things are written about us, about our appearance, and I think well, hang about. I get my shirts from Agnès B, darling. You calling me a f***in’ binman?”

Edinburgh Picture House

Doves played the Edinburgh Picture House for the first time tonight. Sounds like the gig went well. Though Jimi, announced Andy wasn’t feeling too good tonight, so the set was slightly shorter than usual. Here It Comes was not played, The Last Broadcast was moved to the main set, leaving just a two song encore Northenden/The Fear. Kudos to Andy for soldiering on. Get well soon!

Thanks to McGrivvy at doves board for the set info.

Andy Promises Exciting Tour Visuals

In an interview with The Birmingham Mail, Andy has briefly discussed the staging of Doves’ forthcoming tour.

Birmingham Mail.net

“Because the venues on this tour are a bit bigger we are working out another couple of songs and features.

“We are doing this new intro film which sounds very exciting but I can’t really tell you any more than that.

“I hope it’s good now I’ve built it up.”
