Edinburgh Tix/Weekend Festivals

Tickets for Edinburgh’s Edge festival gig go on sale at 9:30am in the morning. Priced at £21.25 including the usual fees.

Doves are off out doing the festivals this weekend. Tonight its the Isle Of Wight Festival. Doves take the main stage at 6:35pm til 7:20pm. ITV2 are covering the festival (thanks to an optional extra for the heads up!) so expect to see some Doves. If you manage to get some Doves on tape, let us know!

Saturday its the big headline show at Thetford Forest. Then on Sunday Doves play Rockness near Inverness in Scotland. That show is headlined by the Strokes. You may recall The Strokes supported Doves on the first US tour back in 2001. So maybe a festival collaboration there?

If you attend one of the shows. Do send in your reviews/pics/setlist etc as always! Personally, I will be glued to the World Cup. You can catch a Doves DJ set at the Relentless Garage for the England v Algeria match next Friday, more info here.

Doves On Tour

Doves are heading out on tour next week to celebrate the last 12 years. The tour kicks off in Hull on Wednesday. Tickets are still available for most shows, except London which has sold out. You may find some venues only have seated tickets left. Get your tickets here.

The blog may not be updated regularly over the next couple weeks. I’m flying to Manchester tomorrow (touch wood.. baring another major volcanic eruption..) on holiday, and of course luck has it, I will be catching a few shows starting in Hull before finishing up at the London Troxy. But do send in your reviews/pictures/news etc as per usual and I will put them up when I can. Hope to post tour updates/setlists where internet access allows.

Green Man Festival

doves will be headlining the Green Man Festival in Wales along with the likes of the Flaming Lips. The event takes place over the weekend of August 20-22, which is the same weekend as V that doves are also playing. Doves will be playing the Friday night at Green Man. Good to see Wales get some love!

See Doves Live Next Thursday!

Doves will be on Evo Music Rooms being recorded in London next Thursday the 1st of April in the evening. Tickets are free, but they’ll go fast head to sroaudiences.com click on “current shows” and scroll down to “Evo Music Rooms.”

On a personal note, Looking forward to this tour immensely. I haven’t seen the band play in the UK since 2005, though I caught them a few times last year in the US where I now reside. Can’t beat seeing them over in blighty! See you there.

Free Leeds Show!

Finally, this one can be announced – The NME reports, doves will play a free show at the Leeds Cockpit December 14th as part of the Adidas Originals House Party. For ticket details visit NME ticket page here. Good luck in getting tickets!

Doves are set play a free gig in Leeds on December 14.

The band will warm up for their giant homecoming at Manchester Central at an intimate gig organised by NME Radio.

The band will play the NME Radio presents adidas House Party gig at the city’s Cockpit venue and tickets can be claimed for free in the run up to the show.

To get in, fans have to head to the new JD sports shop at Core Shopping Centre on December 12 or 13 where members of the NME Radio team will be giving away 100 free tickets.

Dubai Sound City

Doves performance at Dubai Sound City’s Irish Village has been moved a day earlier to November 5th. Sharing the stage with the likes of The Farm, Futureheads & The Human League among others. Tickets still available at the festival website.
