AndalucÃa Fails to Chart

Unsurprisingly AndalucÃa didn’t trouble the UK singles chart despite the best efforts of teps. With no physical release and all promotion focused on the album I don’t think anything other was expected. Here’s what the iTunes UK singles chart (where something like 95% of all single/song sales now come from) looks like..

241. There Goes the Fear – Doves
256. AndalucÃa – Doves
339. Black and White Town – Doves
576. Pounding – Doves

Not quite as exciting as the Bruno Brooks chart countdown I used to enjoy back in the day. What may be even more surprising, is that Radio 1 didn’t see fit to put AndalucÃa on any of its playlists. It seems like Doves are no longer cool for school..

Edit: To be fair, I don’t listen to Radio 1, so maybe R1 audience has changed somewhat? 6 Music has played lots of Doves of late, of course that wont be the case if the big wigs at the BBC get their way..

The Places Between: The Best Of Doves Out Today

The Places Between: The Best Of Doves is out today in Europe (April 20th in North America) its available to download right now.

For the best price today for the standard edition, then you want to head over to amazon UK who are offering the 15 track album for £4.99. Amazon also have the deluxe version download for £8.69

If you prefer iTunes, they have the deluxe version with all the videos included for £11.99, the itunes version features the bonus track Brazil. If you prefer to just buy Brazil, you can do that too for 99p as surprisingly its not a “album only” download.

7digital usually tend to offer the best quality download at 320 kbps, though as I write this they don’t have the album up just yet.

If like myself you want the physical product, then do take up doves.net offer of £2 off the deluxe version of the album at play.com.

Finally, Andalucia the single is also available to purchase today as a download only. The single features an acoustic version of Jetstream. Available at all good download stores.

iTunes Bonus

If you are considering purchasing The Best Of from itunes then you will be lucky enough to receive the bonus track Brazil, which was previously only available on the Winter Hill 7″ vinyl. I doubt the track will be available to buy on its own as with all itunes “exclusives” you have to buy the full thing. With a bit of luck 7digital will sell the track at 320kbps.

iTunes will also be making all the videos available to buy at the store for the first time.

The single will be available in North America at all good digital stores on Tuesday.
