Doves tonight played the Parr Hall in Warrington. Setlist below courtesy of NLF from doves board. Note, no Cedar Room! I think that is a first (except for when Jimi has been ill, and they asked if anyone in the crowd wanted vocal dutues).

Top blog The Quietus was invited to doves Stockport studio for an album playback. A track by track review of the album is now at the blog. Click the image above to read the review.
I don’t usually tend to believe the hype that goes with an album release, even with previous doves records. But you do get the feeling with this record, they have made a killer album. Each review has referred to it being their best yet. Of the 6 tracks I have heard, I’m really starting to believe the hype.
Doves hit the road tonight for their first tour since late 2005. They kick off 2009 at Warrington’s Parr Hall. A wonderful venue, I wish I was there. Best of luck to doves tonight, here’s to a great year of touring for the band. I will post up a setlist/review etc as it all becomes available.
