Its amazing what a bit of real news does, this blog hasn’t seen hits like it in a long while. Oh! Whiskey has been given a unanimous thumbs up across social media over the past few days. The track has received over 10k plays since it went live on Monday.

On Tuesday it was Q mag’s track of the day.   Dots and Dashes were quick putting up a review Monday, I think they like it! It was also nice to see media outside the UK pick up on the news. Both Pitchfork (US) & Exclaim (Canada) directed their readers to the track.

You may recall a couple years back Jimi performed on the Irish TV show ‘Other Voices’ in Dingle Ireland. Other Voices have just released a live compilation Other Voices: Series 10, Vol. 1 (Live) via the usual online digital music platforms such as itunes, Amazon etc. Included on the album is Jimi’s performance of Panic Tree. Also worth looking out for is a couple Cherry Ghost tracks!

The promised solo album by Cherry Ghost’s Simon Aldred aka Out Cold gets released on Monday (Sept 16th) via Heavenly Recordings.

Having been giving a sneak preview of the album, I genuinely could not recommend this record highly enough. Forget everything you know of Simond Alrdred’s Cherry Ghost sound, this record goes off on a completely different highway. Highlights include the catchy lead single All I Want, the groovy My Cruel Heart and the monster title track Invasion of Love. Its an earphones record, plenty layers that will keep you going back exploring new sounds. It should also sound great on the record player!
