As you can probably tell, I gave the blog a bit of a much needed make-over. All your favourite pages should be ok. Any issues, just drop me a line. Obviously things are a bit bare on the right sidebar. Just cleaning up, I will be adding things over the coming days to reflect upcoming tour dates and the likes.
Here are a couple things to keep you busy in the meantime. First off a short but sweet interview with Jimi over at deathandtaxesmag.com
Nice to read that Jimi is in a confident mood ahead of the album release date!
Of course yesterday Jimi did a wee session on 6 music, you can hear in full over at the BBC.
Happy New Year to you all! Sorry for the break in transmission, I just enjoyed a wee break back in the UK but that’s DMB back for the long haul and ready for what promises to be a very busy year. Expect some changes over the coming weeks as we get ready for the release of Jimi’s debut album.
As you may have seen Doves.net is no longer around, Its toast but you can always rely on this site and the social media sites to keep you up to date.
Odludek is now available for pre-order at recordstore.co.uk, signed copies go for a tenner and the vinyl run is also available here.
Stay tuned, lots more to come over the coming weeks!

Its amazing what a bit of real news does, this blog hasn’t seen hits like it in a long while. Oh! Whiskey has been given a unanimous thumbs up across social media over the past few days. The track has received over 10k plays since it went live on Monday.
On Tuesday it was Q mag’s track of the day. Dots and Dashes were quick putting up a review Monday, I think they like it! It was also nice to see media outside the UK pick up on the news. Both Pitchfork (US) & Exclaim (Canada) directed their readers to the track.
Have your say over at the official Doves forum here.

Jimi Goodwin on Odludek: “I wanted to make this mad mixtape… the kind you’d pass back and forth with your mates; eclectic as fuck. That’s the way we’ve all discovered music over the years isn’t it? We join our own dots to make it all make sense. As I got into making the record, it felt like I was proving something to myself, making a point that I could do all this on my own. You know – I can play bass, I can play guitar, I can orchestrate. As the methods changed, the original concept stayed intact. It’s me, powering through ideas, kapow kapow, no pause for breath. It’s not trying to be wilfully eclectic; it’s just a reflection of how I schizophrenically devour music.”
Hear Oh, Whiskey at soundcloud.
You may recall a couple years back Jimi performed on the Irish TV show ‘Other Voices’ in Dingle Ireland. Other Voices have just released a live compilation Other Voices: Series 10, Vol. 1 (Live) via the usual online digital music platforms such as itunes, Amazon etc. Included on the album is Jimi’s performance of Panic Tree. Also worth looking out for is a couple Cherry Ghost tracks!
Thanks to Nick for the heads up!
If you are planning to head out to see Elbow/Jimi next April and fancy writing about it for the blog, drop me a note! Would love to hear from you. For those of you asking about other dates/album info there isn’t much concrete info available right now. As soon as info is available, it will be posted on this blog, Jimi’s site and the usual social media pages.
6 Music’s Elizabeth Alker briefly spoke to Jimi over the phone. The interview is being broadcast over several shows on 6 Music, you can listen to now view the iplayer here. It starts about 1hr 45m in.
