Head over to Nokia Music to watch a video of doves discussing music they like. They start off with the Stranglers, before mentioning the likes of Springsteen’s Born to Run, Blondie & 2 Unlimited !! among others.
Thanks to Gerry for letting us know that MTV & VH1 in Ireland are showing highlights of the recent Oxegen festival. We don’t know if or when doves are featured. But if you do manage to catch a bit of doves, let us know! Would love to see it.
The good folks at the official doves website have put up a link to us on the site. So if doves.net is always your first port of call, you can click the fan site link on the main nav bar to find us. Or indeed if you visit us first, as always just click the doves soul image for a direct link to doves.net.
Finally, for those of you who have emailed me recently asking if I know when doves will be back in your town, sorry I don’t have any info. As soon as any new dates (if any!) are announced, you will see them here. Sorry for lack of personal replies, has been a busy few weeks for myself. I suggest you keep checking back, or keep an eye on doves board.
On Friday doves return to the Fuji Rock festival. Always a favourite on the festival calendar. Doves set there in 2002 has often been cited by the band as one of their favourite festival sets ever.
Doves are due on the Green Stage at 2pm local time for a 50 minute set. You can also get a chance to meet the band. They are due to do an autograph & acoustic sessions as well as part take in a MTV talk show. This will take place at Gan-Ban Square at the Oasis area. Check your festival guide for all the timings and what not. Thanks to Apo for the heads up!
Those of you attending have a great time! If you would like to submit photos or a review, we would love to hear from you. Email us.
MTV’s Subterranean reports that doves will be featured on this weekend’s episode. Here’s the blurb from the Subterranean blog:
Thats right, if you tried to watch the show last night and got confused because it wasn’t on, don’t fret, we’re still around! Same place, but a brand new time. You can now catch Subterranean on MTV2 every Sunday at 1AM EST. This week Doves are stopping to celebrate the new time slot and support their album Kingdom of Rust. Also we will be playing new music from Esser, Amazing Baby, Death Cab For Cutie, and P.O.S.
OK, if you still aren’t convinced, check out a sneak of this Sundays episode. We think they are talking about jet lag and…dildos?
Check out these fresh interview snippets from the show.
