With thanks to Nick Yates (aka Substance) we have added Some Cities to the Tablature section of the blog. Nick is currently working his way through Doves catalogue, we previously brought to you the Best Of tabs, Lost Souls & The Last Broadcast. Up next will be Kingdom Of Rust then all the b-sides, lost sides pretty much everything else really.
The tabs are designed so that you can strum along to Doves tracks. The tabs may not reflect exactly how Doves play the songs as some of the recordings are detuned and they are designed so that you don’t have to be Jez or play a right-handed guitar upside down to enjoy them!
With thanks to Daniel Olvera, we have added lyrics to the 2010 version of Blue Water. See what you think, let us know if you agree/disagree!

As I mentioned a couple weeks back Doves would be featured on the new Manchester Aid to Kosovo compilation album. ‘Ten’ will feature 10.03 which I presume to be the regular version taken from Kingdom Of Rust. You can order the album at the Ten website here. CD/Ticket bundles are also available for the charity launch gigs in London & Manchester.
Manchester Aid to Kosovo today announced details of a compilation album titled Ten which is to be released April 4th on Sideways Saloon. Ten features music from Doves, as well as the likes of Elbow and Cherry Ghost among others. The 18 track album is curated by Jo Dudderidge of the excellentThe Travelling Band.
Ten is the follow up to the compilation album Cohesion, which was released 10 years ago which featured the Doves track Valley.
No word on a track listing as yet, will post up more details as I have it. The album will be launched with shows at the Manchester Deaf Institute (April 4th) and London’s Union Chapel (April 7th).
Its no secret the band are going to take a break for a wee while. As expected the Manchester Warehouse show will be the last gig for awhile, Jez is quoted as saying according to theplayground.co.uk
Speaking ahead of their appearance at the incendiary Warehouse Project in Manchester, Jez Williams hinted that Doves’s show on the 16th could be the band’s last, at least for a while.
“The Warehouse Project is our last gig for… I don’t know. It could be a long time. We’ve have no plans to do another album. All I know is this is our last gig…” he said.
So yeah, get your tix now here, if you want to see them one last time.
Miller Filtered Music have uploaded pictures of the recent Oran Mor show up on their facebook. Check it out, some familiar faces!
