Thanks to Tricky for the link. Doves have been confirmed to play this year’s T In The Park. Check out the Sunday Mail article link below. Jimi gives his thoughts on playing T & the influence his late father had on his music growing up.

The Sunday Mail have also reviewed the Barras show, making it the gig of the week. To read the review, click here.

Kingdom Of Rust has remained a number 3, for a second straight week. Great news, the album sales remain solid. Much improvement on Some Cities, which dropped out the charts like a stone pretty quickly after going to number one.

Sunday Mail Avril Adden ****

It’s four years since Doves’ last album and the sold-out ABC was full of anticipation. New songs went down well, especially powerful opener Jetstreamand anthemic The Greatest Denier.

Winter Hill wasn’t as well received as I expected but Kingdom Of Rust sounded even better live thanks to Andy Williams’ drumming.

There’s an easy chemistry between the trio as they swap vocal duties and instruments and they have honed their craft, making it look effortless.

There could be no other ending than euphoric anthem There Goes The Fear

GLASTONBURY/REVIEWS

Doves have confirmed they are to headline the John Peel tent at this year’s Glastonbury. It will be Doves sixth appearance at Glasto. Also confirmed is Bestival over weekend Sept 11-13th.

I get the feeling folk are really enjoying having Doves back!

Good times.

Glasgow Barrowland 2002 Second Night

Glasgow Barrowland, Novemeber 20th 2002

Notes: Taken from my old gig book. I wrote at the time: Took the band several attempts to get Catch The Sun going again. Here It Comes, causes problems just like last night. Again, didn’t effect the show. Great show, great crowd!

Support: The Delgados, Alpinestars
