  • Lyrics

Get out of bed, pick up the phone
    Time to tell the press
Say to myself, I can’t do no-one else
    There’s a whole world outside

    I’m gonna tell it all
    I’m gonna sell it all
    I’m gonna sell
    Get out of bed
    Come out and sing
    Blue skies ahead
    The man who told everything

And I feel, like I’m losing my head
    I didn’t mean to stay
Lives have been wrecked, and I’ve picked up my cheque
Catch a plane out of here

I’m gonna get out of here
I’m gonna get out of here
    I’m gonna sell
    Get out of bed
    Come out and sing
    Blue skies ahead
    The man who told everything

Another track is lifted from the acclaimed ‘Lost Souls’ – and the band head out on tour around the same time…

DOVES will release a new single, ‘THE MAN WHO TOLD EVERYTHING’ around the time of their biggest ever UK tour, set for autumn.

Taken from the band’s debut album ‘Lost Souls’, the new single could feature new Doves songs ‘New York’ and ‘Blue Water’ which have featured in recent live sets by the band. The band have also recorded ‘filmic’ versions of songs from ‘Lost Souls’.

Following the tour, Doves will start work on their second album Speaking of the tour, Doves singer Andy Williams told nme.com: “The venue size seems to have stepped up, it’s good not to be playing the back of pubs any more. It’s what we’ve always wanted really. We’ve been to places we’ve never been to before.

“We’ve got loads of new songs but it’s going to be the top of next year before we really get stuck into the next album.”
