I am a thick American, so with that said, is the M62 Song referring to a freeway? Cause isn't the M62 a roadway or something?

That's right. It's a motorway. British motorways start with M then the number it is. It runs from north if Manchester connecting quite a few towns and cities. The road noise effects were recorded under a motorway flyover. Although it's disputed exactly which one!

The M62 runs from Hull to Liverpool, more or less coast to coast, it takes in Leeds, Manchester and a few others along the way.
Drive with me, past the city and down to sea......

No matter where it was recorded, it's still brilliant!
