He was great at the wolves until opposition team sussed our tactics: work hard- mark your man- make your runs- win the ball- give it to ketsbaia

Not the best player, but he did score the goal that got us into the champions league under K Doglish. That said his most memorable moment had to have been the winning goal against Bolton, he then celebrated by kicking the ad hoaring to death! Mental.

Mercurial genius has a canny way of finding its way to Tyneside consistently, doesn't it?

Listened again last night. Struck me that i've never listened to this album that much since 2009 for some reason. Couldn't even remember what the opening track was until it kicked in.

I cant remember where i downloaded them from but i had 3 live tracks in good quality mp3 format from one of the September 2008 gigs- Winter Hill, Kingdom Of Rust and The Outsiders. Was it the Royal Festival Hall they played in Sept 08? God my memory is gash these days, but anyway i had those 3 songs from around that time that i hammered for months, so much so that when i eventually heard the recorded versions when KOR came out i was slightly disappointed. To me the live versions of those 3 songs were better. But, still, you cant beat that beautifully melancholic melody on Kingdom Of Rust, gets me every time. Strongest tracks for me are 10.03 and Greatest Denier. I actually don't mind Compulsion, that bass drum kick really REALLY thumps. It could get a thump out of the tiniest, tinniest little speaker that mother. Spellbound is my least favourite, one of Doves worst ever album tracks in my opinion. Lifelines affected me the most last night when i listened to the album. Always rated the song but it sounded massive last night, Jimi's vocals and the music around the bit " the colours run..." magnifique!!

Saw them live twice around the time of KOR - Cov Kasbah and Birmingham
