EMI 5 Album Set

Doves are one of a number of bands who are having their back catalogue re-released as part of a EMI 5 Album Set series. Its essentially the five original albums packaged together, don’t be expecting any remastering, extras etc. For the asking price of £13 ($ 19.81 in the US) you cannot expect much more. Certainly an economical way for those who may only have the best of, to own all the studio albums, and the Lost Sides 2003 reissue.

Im pretty sure it means that Doves no longer has a contract with EMI.
Just like the other groups whose music EMI is publishing this series with…only albums that are being used are the ones that EMI has access to, even though non of the artists have a contract with the label anymore.
Radiohead
Simple Minds
UB40
Gomex
Gary Moore
Roxy Music
Jethro Tull
oh and Doves.
If Doves was still signed to EMI,1) They would be the only ones in the series 2) it would dilute any future releases from the band under contract since they could have put other potential best of box sets that would include any net new material after KOR.
It’s a nice way to introduce the band, but what some fans would really like to see is a 5 album box set on Vinyl! That’s something I would spend money on.
I feel sick I have only just learnt of this release! I NEED Doves to get back touring
